The Bibb County School District is now accepting applications for Nutrition Team Leader for the 2024-2025 School Year.

 

Job Summary:

Assists in the management and operation of a school’s cafeteria and nutrition program.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Supervises and participates in the preparation, heating or cooking, assembling and serving of food for students, staff, and guests.
  2. Maintains quality food standards, including appearance and taste.
  3. Ensures that district developed menus, specifications and recipes are followed.
  4. Supervises nutrition staff members by assisting with the setting up work schedules, training, assigning and directing tasks, evaluating work performance, counseling, and recommending disciplinary action.
  5. Ensures that proper customer service is provided by all school nutrition staff members.
  6. Ensures that meals meet district, state, and federal meal requirements.
  7. Assists in monitoring employee attendance and assists with leave entry and reporting, submission of time and attendance, and payroll data.
  8. Assists with the ordering and procurement of food and supplies as necessary for operations; ensures proper storage and use of food, equipment and supplies.
  9. Prepares and maintains accurate production, operations and employment records.
  10. Conducts food and supply inventories and counts as scheduled and as necessary or assigned.
  11. Checks goods received against requisitions and invoices; contacts appropriate staff or vendors to correct errors.
  12. May assist and participate in the interviewing and selection of employees for the school nutrition program.
  13. Assists in the training and supervising of school Nutrition Assistants in the areas of food preparation, use and care of equipment, sanitation and safety practices.
  14. Follows and monitors security measures to prevent loss, vandalism and theft.
  15. Follows approved Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) housekeeping and safety practices to ensure that sanitary working conditions are maintained in all areas of school nutrition.
  16. Assists with the preparation, review, maintenance, and submission of reports, files and records as required by district, state, and federal regulations as director or assigned.
  17. May assist with cash receipts and deposits; follows established procedures for handling cash and ensures that bank deposits are made in compliance with established schedules.
  18. Performs related duties as required or assigned.

Education, Training and Experience:

  1. High school diploma or GED required. 
  2. Two (2) years of experience in school nutrition management or food service is required; or any equivalent combination of training or experience.

Certificate and License Requirements:  

  1. Must have (or obtain) ServSafe Certification.
  2. Position requires travel and use of an automobile is required.

SALARY/TERMS/BENEFITS:

  1. 190 day contract year; 7 hours per day
  2. Salary Range: Grade 37 (placement on salary schedule based on years of related experience).  Up to ten years allowed.  The stated salary range reflects the opportunity for pay over the course of the employee's tenure. For external candidates, the top pay is not a potential starting salary.
