JOB SUMMARY
The Air Force JROTC Instructor is the institutional leader in managing and conducting the JROTC Air Force program in accordance with the United States Air Force Commandant of Cadets guidelines and school district rules, regulations, and policies. Responsible for providing classroom instruction to cadets as established within the curriculum’s program of instruction (POI) as provided by and school district guidelines and policies. Adheres to Bibb County School JROTC established operating procedures relating to administration, control, and training of cadets. Assists in establishing and maintaining viable extra-curricular activities such as Color Guards, Drill Teams, Raider Teams, Rifle Teams, Orienteering Teams, and Academic Teams.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Military service instructor to secondary level cadets, responsible for assisting in implementing the policies and procedures for the high school AFJROTC unit program according to national, state, and district standards.
- Primary drill and leadership instructor for mentoring and motivating cadets in promoting social, civic, character education, and physical growth.
- Responsible for assisting in managing and implementing the military service's national
education curriculum and program requirements; advises and assists in plans, coordination, and supervise all co-curricular service learning and special activities or events (military balls, drill meets, marksmanship matches, honor guards, and other extracurricular activities).
- Assists in property management and fundraising for the unit.
- Assists in administering the cadet record system and reporting for military and district information.
- Must be recommended by the military branch
- Directs and participates in community service events with cadets
- Prepare for weekly training schedules
- Support and maintain a “Cadet-run” JROTC Unit.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Associate's Degree required (Enlisted).
- Bachelor’s Degree required (Officer)
- There is no waiver on the degree requirement.
- Must reach a minimum of 10 years of satisfactory military service (retired, non-retried veteran) as of the application date.
- Must hold official military retirement orders reflecting honorable discharge.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Must have an innate, working knowledge of the U. S. military and all facets of operations, leadership, service to the country, values, discipline, teamwork, and drill & ceremonies.
- Must be able to represent the school, the JROTC program, and Bibb County School District Schools in a favorable light to all stakeholders.
- Required travel to attend JROTC conferences and summer events as applicable
- All other duties, as assigned and required, in order to perform the above services.
CERTIFICATION, LICENSE AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- JROTC Instructor Permit or GaPSC approved teaching certificate is required.
